Suppose a couple of avid cyclist fans were blessed with a baby daughter, and they dosed her up with loads of testosterone, so she could out-complete other girls at cycling.
Even though this wasn't her fault, would she be allowed to compete with other women if it came out?
Or to put it another way, should East Germany's medals for female athletes be allowed to stand?
Even if people are occasionally "born into the wrong body", it isn't the fault of women's sport, so why should it pay to put things right?
I'm sympathetic to these individual's plight, and think it can be mostly fixed, but where it can't be, let's not pretend it can, to the detriment of women's sport.

My view, for what it’s worth.
If you are a man and you want to be a woman then that is fine, if you want to use ladies toilets or changing rooms then not fine.
If you want the right to use these facilities then you have to make the ultimate sacrifice and have your meat and 2 veg removed. Once you have done that feel free to live your life as a woman.
Simple really.

Perhaps if all sport threw away the men's and women's categories, and replaced them with just one all-comers. gender-neutral category, then all this could be avoided.
Surely this should be the goal of the gender activists for ultimate parity?
The other benefit would be that events such as the Olympics would only need to be half as long.
All improvements as far as I can see.

I saw that goose and I was thinking all he said was that he didn’t agree with it in the same way that other people have note have come out and said it.
It’s not as though he said he must be stoned and burnt on the stake!
The other thing was this bloke competed in a male event a month before, why do that if you want to become a woman?

I think people should be free to identify as whatever they want. It should not follow that society should bend over backwards to accommodate all their idiosyncrasies though.

Very true. Not the same but I remember when John McEnroe got in to trouble saying Serena Williams would be 700 odd in the world in the men's game. He then said they should all play as one for a couple of years and see what the rankings were. Maybe that's what sport should do all play under one category and see how long it lasts!
